About this group

Transformations CDC walks alongside immigrants as they build new lives marked by safety, dignity, and opportunity—offering support, community, and proactive resources that not only respond to needs but also help prevent future crises, leading to lasting hope and abundant life.

In the meantime, we work primarily with Central American immigrants and their children in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati.

What we provide

Education

After-school tutoring and homework help for children of immigrant families, plus youth enrichment that gets kids outdoors for deep nature learning and into the ring for circus arts—building literacy, confidence, and teamwork at the same time. Adults grow through ESL classes and practical workshops, and we use social media to share know-your-rights information with immigrants while keeping allies informed about our work and immigration news.

Health

Culturally grounded, Spanish-language health programming on reproductive health and rights, alcohol and substance misuse, and domestic violence prevention. We combine small-group education with one-on-one accompaniment—helping neighbors find a clinic, understand their options, and connect with trusted counselors and safety resources without fear or shame.

Food insecurity

A weekly immigrant-centered food pantry stocked with the staples families actually cook with, offered with dignity and without paperwork barriers. Beyond groceries, the pantry is a doorway: it is often where a family first meets us and learns about tutoring, health programs, and advocacy support.

Advocacy

Legal and public advocacy on the issues that shape our neighbors' stability: TPS and other immigration protections, work permits, safe and affordable housing, and fair treatment by landlords, employers, and institutions. We help families prepare documents, connect with trusted legal partners, and speak for themselves in public settings.

Daily activities

The everyday help that keeps a household moving: rides to medical appointments and school meetings, interpreting at clinics and offices, help reading letters and filling out forms, and warm hand-offs to other agencies. Small acts, offered consistently, are what prevent tomorrow's crisis.
